| DIVE CENTER IN SANTA CATALINA |
| Scuba Coiba started operating in December 2003 and was the first and only land based dive center in the Gulf of Chiriqui in Panama with easy access to the world class dive sites of the Coiba National Park. Because of this fast and easy access we are offering daily trips for your diving adventure in the national park of Coiba and around Santa Catalina. Of course also eco adventure- and snorkeling trips to the park and whale watching tours can be organized for non divers or in addition to your dive trip. Diving around Coiba as well as around the islands closer to Sta. Catalina is diving in pristine, almost unexplored waters, deeming with fish. Scuba Coiba dive center is owned by PADI instructor Herbie Sunk, who is living and diving in Panama since 2000. The team is completed by PADI instructor Jeremy Mitchell and the local captain Orlando Godoy and diveguide/assistant Luis Terrero, who are well acquainted with the divesites and the area. Jeremy, Luis and Herbie have together more than 20 years experience in teaching and dive guiding, made about 6000 dives (more than 1000 thereof in this area of Panama) and certified around 1000 students from Open Water Diver to Divemaster. Jeremy speaks English and Spanish and is additionally certified DAN O2 provider, Emergency First Response instructor as well as PSI tank inspector. Herbie speaks German, English and Spanish, is First Aid Instructor and authorized to service and repair Sherwood regulators. Luis Terrero has been virtually on every dive trip Scuba Coiba has done since 2003 and you will not find anyone more knowledgeable about the diving conditions and the area. Safety is the main concern for serious dive operators, therefore we provide beyond our experience and training First Aid Oxygen, First Aid kits, a VHF radio, compass, GPS, life vests, signal devices, fire extinguisher and a comprehensive waterproof emergency plan at our dive trips. |
